We Need Your Help!
Comprehensive plans are critical documents that help the community address important issues and opportunities while embracing a unique vision for the future. This plan will include both practical and implementable recommendations that promote safe communities, sustained economic development, diverse housing, transportation options, and other development and redevelopment efforts across the following topic areas:
- Land Use
- Transportation
- Economic Development
- Housing
- Capital Improvement
- Broadband Services
Periodic updates of local planning documents like the comprehensive plan are required in order to retain eligibility for various resources and programs administered by the state and stakeholder and public participation play a crucial role in the development of the plan. In order to provide for better consistency and coordination between local governments in the area of comprehensive planning, the State of Georgia has passed laws and regulations to guide communities in the preparation of their plans. Outreach efforts will be used to educate City of South Fulton residents and stakeholders on local opportunities and issues, and to gather input on community perceptions, needs, and priorities that can be incorporated into the plan. Outreach techniques are designed to be representative of the community, encourage broad participation, and target traditionally underserved communities, as well as generate meaningful feedback and build relationships that will support action once the planning effort is completed.
