Project Overview

The City of Chamblee, the Chamblee Doraville Community Improvement District (CDCID) and the City of Doraville are conducting this study to identify an additional crossing of the Norfolk Southern/MARTA tracks between Chamblee Dunwoody Road and I-285. The new crossing will be designed to accommodate cars, trucks, buses, pedestrians, and cyclists.

Despite dynamic economic activity and vibrant communities on both sides of the rail, crossing the tracks is currently possible at only three existing points within the two cities. This feasibility study builds upon a previous analysis conducted by the CID that demonstrates the need for additional connectivity across the tracks for the Chamblee and Doraville communities, given current and future conditions.
